Mandola

A fifth lower than a mandolin and tuned to C, the mandola is the perfect traveling instrument.  Strung with mostly wound strings gives this uncommon instrument the volume level of a standard guitar in a very small package.  In my opinion the mandolin spends its life shouting out over a banjo while a mandola sings its own song.  Available in both A and F styles either one will find usefulness in solo or jam sessions.
